Captain Nimalen is the owner of Le Performant Sport Fishing, and the operator of 4 boats in the fleet. He was raised in a fisherman family (being a 3rd-generation fisherman himself), with his father also a well-known angler in Cap-Malheureux. Nimalen loved fishing since childhood, and is now even a holder of several fishing records with his fleet of boats.

 e Performant 1 is a 47’ vessel powered by twin 370HP Yanmar engines. The boat is outfitted with a private bathroom, as well as a spacious salon that can accommodate up to 10 people. For fishing, a variety of Penn International reels and Shimano Tiagra are used (3x 130lbs, 2x 80lbs, 4x 50lbs), along with flybridge, free fighting chairs, outriggers, downriggers, centerrigger, and a diverse range of lures necessary for fishing these waters. Among the safety equipments we have first aid kits, life jackets, life raft, Life Bouy,  as well as various navigational electronics (GPS Chart Plotter, Fish Finder, Satelite Phone, VHF radio, portable mobile).

Granders are certainly not unheard in our waters, but if you’re just looking for a relaxing day out, there are lots of smaller, yet formidable fish you can target as well. The species commonly fished for include Billfish (Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Sailfish), Wahoo, Shark, Mahi Mahi, Bonito and many others, depending on the season.

Captain Nimalen is at the helm of the Le Performant Sport Fishing fleets, which has in recent years expanded to four vessels. You could say fishing runs in Nimalen’s blood: he is a third-generation fisherman, and his father is well-known Fisherman in Cap-Malheureux for his fishing skills.
